The Fair Housing Center of Southeast and Central Ohio is a key initiative of LASCO, dedicated to ensuring fair housing opportunities for all. Covering 36 counties, the project focuses on eliminating housing discrimination and promoting equitable access to housing through education, outreach, advocacy, and enforcement of fair housing laws. The center helps to protect individuals and families from discriminatory practices based on race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), familial status, military status, and disability.
By addressing systemic housing inequalities, the Fair Housing Center of Southeast and Central Ohio plays a critical role in expanding housing choice and stability for underserved populations across the region. Its efforts not only support individuals and families but also contribute to creating more inclusive and just communities.
LASCO and OPLC work together to address the legal needs of low-income individuals and families. OPLC focuses on systemic change to alleviate the barriers faced by Ohioans living and working in poverty. While LASCO provides direct legal services, OPLC complements this by advocating for policies and reforms that create broader access to justice. Together, we aim to break down the barriers that prevent families from achieving stability and opportunity.
