LASCO Privacy Policy

Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our privacy practices concerning the use of 10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) numbers to send and receive text messages and provides information on how and why we use these numbers to communicate with you. 


USE OF PHONE NUMBERS

When you consent to receive text messages from us, we may collect certain information including your phone number, message content, and any other information you provide during our communications.


OPT-IN PROCEDURES

Currently, the only method for opting in to receive text messages is by our staff asking for your consent directly. We do not use automated systems for this purpose. Your consent will be recorded at the time of agreement, ensuring that all text messages you receive from us are based on your explicit permission.


PURPOSE OF DATA USE

The information collected through text messaging will be used for the following purposes:

  • Sending you updates, notifications, and messages personally generated by our staff.
  • Responding to your inquiries.
  • Improving our ability to contact you efficiently.


We are committed to ensuring the security of your personal information. All data collected through text messaging is encrypted and stored securely. We implement appropriate technological and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.


OPT-OUT

You have the right to opt out of receiving text messages from us at any time. To opt out, reply “STOP” to any message you receive, or contact our Director of Information Technology by calling (614) 224-8374. Once you opt out, you will no longer receive text messages from LASCO.   


DATA RETENTION

We will retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.


THIRD-PARTY SHARING

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties except as described in this policy or with your consent. 


UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE

We may update this Policy in response to changing legal, technological, or business developments. If we change our Notice, we will post those changes on our website in addition to updating the “Last Revised” date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this Policy regularly to stay informed of the latest modifications.
