Kaci Philpot is a Staff Attorney II with LASCO’s Tenant Advocacy Project (TAP), which provides onsite legal help at eviction court to lower-income Central Ohioans. Kaci first became involved with LASCO as a volunteer with the Education Team before officially joining the organization as a Staff Attorney.
As an attorney with a broad skillset and varying experience, Kaci loves working at the intersection of housing law, civil rights, educational rights, and disability rights. “The best part of my job is when my clients feel like they’ve seen justice when they expected to lose their homes because of a broken system,” she says. “It’s so meaningful to be able to work every day to fight a system that is stacked against tenants.”
