Professional Biography
Elizabeth works as a staff attorney for LASCO. “I find a deep gladness and passion in being a part of the work of Legal Aid, to provide civil legal representation to low-income individuals in my community. I am driven by a sense of desire to serve my community and to strive for societal change that spans beyond direct legal representation. It is energizing and encouraging to be surrounded by co-workers who have a great zeal to address the issues that perpetuate the cycles of poverty and unfairness,” she says about her work.

Publications & Significant Cases
- Ball v. DeWine, a federal civil rights class-action lawsuit brought in the Southern District of Ohio in 2016 to force the state of Ohio to enable people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live and receive services in their own homes and communities instead of harsh, isolating mental institutions. This case (settled in 2020) led to over 1,000 people leaving mental institutions.
- Jordan v. GDPM, a federal Fair Housing Act lawsuit in the Southern District of Ohio against a metropolitan housing authority for failing to accommodate the plaintiff's vision impairment and to provide her with information and materials in an accessible format.
- Mooneyhan v. Husted, a federal Americans with Disabilities Act lawsuit against the Ohio Secretary of State for failing to accommodate a voter hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital on Election Day.
- Published law review article entitled "Demore v. Kim: The Constitutionality of Mandatory Detention Pending Removal Proceedings for Criminal Noncitizens," Capital University Law School, 2005.
